Rule 10.121<br />

10.121. Rates of travelling allowance admissible to police officers. - Appendix<br />

10.121(a) and (b) show the rates of travelling allowance admissible to police officers for<br />

different classes of journey.<br />

Rule 10.122<br />

10.122. Mileage allowance. - A mileage allowance is an allowance calculated on the<br />

distance travelled which is given to meet the cost of a particular journey on the principles<br />

explained in rule 2.25, Travelling Allowance <strong>Rules</strong>. Mileage allowance will ordinarily<br />

be granted by the route which is the cheapest and most expeditious.<br />

Rule 10.123<br />

10.123. Point of commencement and end of journey. - The point in any station at<br />

which a journey is held to commence or end is the chief public officer or such other point<br />

as may be fixed for the purpose by the local Government. (Rule 2.27, T.A. <strong>Rules</strong>). A list<br />

of points thus fixed is given in Appendix D of the same rules.<br />

Rule 10.124<br />

10.124. Mileage allowance for journeys by railway, sea or by river steamer. - For<br />

the purpose of calculating mileage allowances by rail and steamer the class of accommodation<br />

sanctioned for a police officer in rule 10.121 is further defined as follows (<strong>Rules</strong><br />

2.19 and 2.32 of the <strong>Punjab</strong> Travelling Allowance <strong>Rules</strong> ) :-<br />
