As for Inspector-General but embroidered on<br />
front edge only.<br />
For all other officers Plain patent leather peak.<br />
To be worn with a Khaki cover of same material and shade as jacket.<br />
Overcoat. - Drab mixture cloth, milled and waterproofed; double-breasted to reach to<br />
the point of the knee, 18 to 20 inch slit at the back with small saddle flap. Turn-down collar<br />
2 1 ⁄2 inches deep, with lapel and step, fastening with one hook and eye. Four large<br />
buttons on each side, three to button and one under turn. Two bottom pockets with flap;<br />
one inside breast pocket at each side; sword slit at left side; loose turn back cuffs of single<br />
material 4 1 ⁄2 inches deep; shoulder straps of the same material as the garment fastened<br />
with small buttons. Badges of rank and buttons in silver metal. The collar is provided<br />
with a cloth tab to button across the opening at the throat when repaired. The coat is lined<br />
with drab flannel.<br />
Note :- It is at the option of individual officers to provide themselves with this article of uniform<br />
where the climate renders it necessary.<br />
Serge Jacket and Serge Trousers. - Where the climate renders these desirable officers<br />
may also provide themselves with jacket and trousers made of drab serge.<br />
WORKING DRESS<br />
Working Dress :- Uniform is of the same pattern as for Review Order but in place of<br />
gaberdine and woollen cord, drill will be used for the jacket and slacks and cotton Bedford<br />
cord for the breeches.<br />
The helmet, boots, belt, sword, scabbard, sword-knot, pistol, whistle, badges and forage<br />
cap, etc., are the same as for Review Order.<br />
MESS DRESS - COLD WEATHER<br />
Mass Jacket - Dark blue cloth, pointed cuffs, 5 inches high at point and 2 1 ⁄2 inches behind,<br />
of the same material, Roll Collar of black silk. Shoulder-straps of blue cloth tacked<br />
under the collar, with badges of rank as in Review Order but without shoulder letters.<br />
Miniature medals and decorations to be worn on the left lapel, one inch below the point<br />
of the shoulder, over-lapping if necessary, but not projecting beyond the lapel. Collar<br />
bages should be placed 3 ⁄4 inch below the medals.<br />
Mess Waistcoat - White marcella, corners cut away, open at the front and without collar,<br />
to be fastened with 4 small Indian <strong>Police</strong> buttons 11 ⁄8 inches apart.<br />
Collar and necktie - Collar, plan white linen, with black tie.<br />
Overalls - Dark blue cloth of the same shade as that of the jacket with two stripes of<br />
3 ⁄4 inch plain mohair braid 1 ⁄4 inch apart down the outside seam. Black leather foot-steps<br />
with steel buckle<br />
Boots - Wellington, black, patent leather.<br />
Spurs - Box, with plain rowels.<br />
Forage Cap - As in Review Order, but with a white cover.<br />
Badges - Of same size as in Review Order.<br />
MESS DRESS - HOT WEATHER<br />
Mess Jacket - White drill, without braid or buttons, Roll Collars, Shoulder- straps of<br />
similar material with a small Indian <strong>Police</strong> pattern button at the top. One inside breast
