Note :- A pair of Hunter Boots will be issued to each Lower Subordinate posted in Lahaul and Spiti<br />

area in lieu of canvas shoes and chappals. Its duration will be one year.<br />

for issue to O.Rs. of P.A.P. posted in Lahaul and Spiti District.<br />

Rule 4.9<br />

4.9. Clothing to be shown at kit inspections. - Lower subordinates shall lay out their<br />

kits and one suit of plain clothes at kit inspections according to the approved diagram issued<br />

on the authority of the Inspector-General. The plain clothes shown need not be of<br />

standard pattern, but shall include a pagri and shall be suitable for walking-out dress.<br />

(2) A kit inspection digram shall be supplied to every police station, post, standing<br />

guard and barrack in each district.<br />

Rule 4.10<br />

4.10. Issue and wearing of chevrons and badges. - (1) Chevrons are authorised as<br />

follows :-<br />

(a) Head Constables on passing the intermediates class at the <strong>Police</strong><br />

Training School, Phillaur<br />

3 stripes with a crown<br />

(b) Probationary and confirmed Head Constables who have not passed<br />

the intermediate class at the <strong>Police</strong> Training School, Phillaur<br />

3 stripes<br />

(c) Officiating Head Constables 2 stripes<br />

(d) Selection Grade Constables on list ‘C’ 1 stripe<br />

To be worn on both sleeves midway between the elbow and shoulder point towards the<br />

elbow.<br />

(2) Badges of the St. John’s Ambulance Association shall be worn by those entitled to<br />
