The Scale applicable to other Deputy Superintendents<br />

Note 1. :- The initial pay of an officer promoted from the Provincial <strong>Police</strong> Service to the Indian<br />

(Imperial) <strong>Police</strong> Service shall on each occasion of his promotion be fixed on the inferior<br />

time-scale of pay for the Indian (Imperial) <strong>Police</strong> Service at the stage next above his existing<br />

pay in the Provincial <strong>Police</strong> Service. As soon as he holds a superior post he shall rise to the<br />

corresponding stage of the superior scale.<br />

Note. 2 :- When an officer of Provincial Service is drawing pay in that service equal to or higher<br />

than the maximum of the inferior Imperial <strong>Police</strong> time-scale and is promoted to a superior<br />

post in the All India Service, he shall be brought on the superior time-scale at the stage which<br />

is Rs. 175 in excess of the pay he was drawing in the Provincial Service, or if there is no such<br />

stage, then at the stage next above the total of his pay in that service plus Rs. 175 provided<br />

that no officer so promoted from the Provincial Service shall draw more than that which an<br />

officer of the All India Service of the same number of years’ service would be entitled to under<br />

the superior time-scale.<br />

Note 3. :- On any enhancement of his Provincial <strong>Police</strong> Service pay (whether as the result of general<br />

revision of the Provincial <strong>Police</strong> Service rates of pay, or of the operation of the Provincial<br />

<strong>Police</strong> Service time-scale, or of promotion to the selection grade of the (Provincial <strong>Police</strong><br />

Service) while officiating in an All-India Service post such an officer shall be entitled to have<br />

his pay on the All-India Service time-scale of pay recalculated in accordance with the principles<br />

laid down in Notes (1) and (2) above on the basis of his enhanced pay in the Provincial<br />

Service, and with effect from the date of such enhancement.<br />

Note 4. :- Increments of pay on the All India Service time-scale of pay shall be granted to a Provincial<br />

<strong>Police</strong> Service officer holding an Indian (Imperial) <strong>Police</strong> post only on completion of<br />

a full year’s service on any stage of that scale, but for the purpose of calculating one year’s<br />

service at a given rate of pay broken periods of officiating service at that rate of pay shall be<br />

taken into account.
