(3) The rates of tailoring charges shall be paid according to the scale fixed from time<br />

to time for each article by the Superintendent of <strong>Police</strong> in agreement with the tailor<br />

: provided that such rates shall not exceed the maxima laid down by the Inspector-General<br />

of <strong>Police</strong>.<br />

(4) Orders shall be placed with the tailor periodically, and he shall be required to<br />

have the work done in the <strong>Police</strong> Lines.<br />

(5) All articles ordered shall be made similar to a sealed muster or other approved<br />

pattern and shall be delivered at the office of the Superintendent of <strong>Police</strong> on<br />

such date or dates as may be fixed in the order. The Superintendent of <strong>Police</strong><br />

shall be final authority, on a report by the Survey Committee under <strong>Police</strong> Rule<br />

4.28, to reject any article which does not fulfil this condition.<br />

(6) The direction of the Superintendent of <strong>Police</strong> as to the period within and place<br />

at which articles are to be delivered shall be binding on the tailor and in case of<br />

default in this respect he shall be liable to punishment, over and above the making<br />

good of the value of any material or Government property for which he is<br />

responsible, by forfeiture of the whole or such part as may be considered reasonable,<br />

of the security deposit referred to in this tender, on a report of a Survey<br />

Committee under the <strong>Police</strong> Rule cited above. The Superintendent of <strong>Police</strong><br />

shall also be empowered to terminate the contract if the work of contractor continues<br />

to be unsatisfactory in spite of issuing him a written warning.<br />

(7) The tailor shall have the right of preferring an appeal to the Deputy Inspector-<br />

General of the Range, against the forfeiture of the security only.<br />

(8) The tailor’s bills for all articles shall be paid for by the Superintendent of <strong>Police</strong><br />

at the rates agreed upon after being checked by such officers as the Superintendent<br />

of <strong>Police</strong> may depute. Any alterations required to articles made by the tailor<br />

shall be done free of charges.<br />

INDEMNITY BOND<br />

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that we __________ (1) and (2) are jointly<br />

and severally bound to the Governor of the <strong>Punjab</strong> in the sum of Rs. __________ to be<br />

paid to the said Secretary of State for India in Council, his successors in office or assigns<br />

for which payment to be made we bind ourselves and each of us in the whole, our and each<br />

of our heirs, executors, administrators and successors jointly and severally by these present<br />

this __________ day of __________ 19 .<br />

WHEREAS the said __________ (1) is employed as a <strong>Police</strong> Lines tailor at<br />

__________ and in that capacity has the care, charge and responsibility for the safe custody<br />

of cloth supplied to him for the making of uniforms, etc.<br />

AND WHEREAS the said __________ is charged with the duty of properly and efficiently<br />

making uniforms from the said cloth in the <strong>Police</strong> Lines at __________ as required<br />

and without unreasonable delay in delivery.<br />

NOW the condition of this bond is such that if the above bounden __________ (1) shall<br />

duly account for all the cloth handed to him to be made into uniform, etc., and shall properly<br />

and efficiently make or cause to be made in the <strong>Police</strong> Lines __________ the<br />

uniforms as required and without unreasonable delay in delivery this bond of obligations<br />

shall be void; otherwise it shall remain in full force.<br />
