Slovénie The most comprehensive study was done in 1984. There was<br />

nothing changed in quantitative terms in Slovenian tourism<br />

Croatie<br />

• 7 CCA studies are planned for Croatian coastal counties but not started<br />

• Brijuni National Park has a specific status (a part of the area is used for<br />

Turquie Most of resort hotel in coastal rural area was built following<br />

land use ratios and densities determined according to<br />

successful examples (France, Spain, Italy)<br />

Chypre<br />

Since 1993, individual assessment (include tourism<br />

accommodation) is asked to submit an EIE to the Ministry of<br />

Environment. Total capacity of 6 138 beds followed this<br />

procedure.<br />

One could say that, the carrying capacity concept only<br />

theoretically has been elaborated in Cyprus in the various<br />

levels of policy and decision making. It seems that the<br />

developers, the hoteliers and the people involved in the<br />

tourism sector have established a very strong lobby towards a<br />

non-stop and non-control tourism development. According to<br />

this trend, almost all the coastal zone of the island has been<br />

heavily developed in order to meet the demand of the tourism<br />

industry. The tourism development has been concentrated<br />

mostly at the coastal areas (up to the 94%) in comparison to<br />

the inland development.<br />

Firstly, in 1987, the Council of Ministers introduced a special<br />
