James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement<br />
Implementation Forum<br />
This special forum of exchanges between <strong>Makivik</strong> and the<br />
Government of Canada had, for various reasons, not been<br />
operating since more than two years ago. We may recall that<br />
discussion which took place during Forum meetings that led<br />
to the development of the Marine Infrastructure Program and<br />
the first Social Housing Construction Program that followed the<br />
complete withdrawal of the federal government from this field<br />
in the early 1990s.<br />

Ce lieu privilégié d’échanges entre la Société <strong>Makivik</strong> et le<br />
gouvernement du Canada avait, pour diverses raisons, interrompu<br />
ses activités pendant plus de deux ans. On se rappellera que les<br />
discussions tenues lors de rencontre de ce forum avaient donné<br />
lieu à la mise en place du programme d’infrastructures maritimes<br />
ainsi qu’au premier programme de construction de logements<br />
sociaux mis sur pied suite au désengagement complet du fédéral<br />
en ce domaine au début des années 1990.<br />
