and the Saputiit Youth Association in the total<br />
amount of $3,516,102 thanks to the Sanarrutik<br />
Agreement funding that <strong>Makivik</strong> receives.<br />
The Heating Oil Subsidy Program, which was<br />
part of the Electricity Supply Plan Agreement entered<br />
into between <strong>Makivik</strong> and Hydro Quebec<br />
17 years ago, provides for the subsidization<br />
of heating oil and propane gas as well as for<br />
the maintenance of oil-fired furnace burners<br />
and water heaters. The subsidy is applied immediately<br />
at the time of fuel delivery, thereby<br />
eliminating the need for eligible customers to<br />
apply for this financial assistance later on, which was the way it<br />
worked up until a couple of years ago. I’m glad to say that the subsidy<br />
was able to provide $1.8-million during our past fiscal year.<br />
Thank you again to the <strong>Makivik</strong> beneficiaries, directors and<br />
employees for your support during the year.<br />
Le Programme de subvention du mazout est issu de l’Entente<br />
sur le plan d’approvisionnement en électricité conclue il y a 17 ans<br />
entre <strong>Makivik</strong> et Hydro‐Québec. En vertu de cette entente, Hydro-<br />
Québec subventionne le coût du mazout et du gaz propane,<br />
ainsi que l’entretien des brûleurs de chaudières et des chauffe-eau<br />
des clients admissibles. La subvention est appliquée immédiatement<br />
au moment de la livraison du combustible, éliminant ainsi<br />
la nécessité pour les clients de présenter une demande de remboursement<br />
comme cela était le cas auparavant. Ce programme<br />
a permis de verser 1,8 million de dollars aux clients admissibles<br />
au cours du dernier exercice.<br />

les administrateurs et les employés de <strong>Makivik</strong> pour le<br />
soutien offert au cours de la dernière année.<br />
