The program officers are vital to the success of projects<br />
through Ungaluk. Once they receive the proposals from the<br />
communities or proponents, they work closely to cover all areas<br />
related to the project proposal. We encourage the proponents<br />
to work closely with the program officers who are available to<br />
help you to have a successful presentation before the coordinator<br />
submits the proposal to the joint executive, which is made up of<br />
the heads of <strong>Makivik</strong> and KRG.<br />
In <strong>2010</strong> and <strong>2011</strong> Ungaluk received 204 project proposals.<br />
Those projects that fit the Ungaluk criteria were approved, while<br />
those that didn’t not have any crime prevention aspect or fit the<br />
other Ungaluk criteria were refused. Those that were approved<br />
range from healing projects, sports and recreational activities,<br />
on-the-land programs, and special school projects that encourage<br />
healthier lifestyles and educational success. The projects may<br />
cover all ages of the Nunavik population from children to elders.<br />

Lorsqu’ils reçoivent les propositions des communautés ou des<br />
promoteurs, ils examinent attentivement tous les aspects des<br />
projets suggérés. Nous encourageons les promoteurs à travailler<br />
en étroite collaboration avec les agents du programme qui peuvent<br />
les aider à élaborer des projets bien ficelés avant qu’ils ne<br />
soient soumis à l’examen du comité composé de dirigeants de<br />
<strong>Makivik</strong> et de l’ARK.<br />
En <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>2011</strong>, Ungaluk a reçu 204 propositions. Celles répondant<br />
aux critères d’Ungaluk ont été acceptées, alors que celles qui<br />
ne comportaient aucun volet de prévention de la criminalité ou<br />
qui ne respectaient pas les critères d’Ungaluk ont été refusées.<br />
Les demandes acceptées comprenaient notamment des projets<br />
de guérison, des activités de sport et de loisirs, des programmes<br />
dans la nature et des programmes spéciaux encourageant le choix<br />
