costs and expenses of implementing

This approach to treaty implementation
is a substantial improvement
over that used by the JBNQA because
it provides clarity for the parties and
their roles in the complicated implementation
process.
The main challenge facing NILCA going forward is ensuring
the proper funding and effective operation of the three management
bodies contained in the NILCA. These bodies are the
Nunavik Marine Region Planning Commission, the Nunavik Marine
Region Impact Review Board, and the Nunavik Marine Region
Wildlife Board. These management regimes are the central bodies
for managing the resources and environment of the Nunavik
Marine Region. Makivik is a member of the NILCA Implementation
Committee, which has the mandate for implementation and
monitoring the NILCA. Through this Implementation Committee,
Makivik works to ensure the three above management bodies
receive proper funding and support from government. Makivik
is optimistic that, given their work to date, these management
bodies will achieve their objectives in the coming years.

Compte tenu du travail accompli à ce jour, Makivik a bon espoir
que ces organismes de gestion atteindront leurs objectifs au
cours des années à venir.
