mai kori gödröt (2/3. objektum), 3 kisebb
lelet nélküli objektumot (2/4-6. objektumok),
továbbá egy méhkas alakú (2/2.
objektum), és egy kisméretű kerek gödröt
(2/1. objektum) bontottunk ki, amelyekből
egy-két őskori (DVK) kerámiatöredék
került elő.
A terület déli részén, a strandfürdő egykori
medencéjétől északra, az ott húzódó
közműárkok elhelyezkedése a tervezettnél
kisebb, mindössze egy 14 × 2 méteres
szelvény feltárását tette lehetővé (4. szelvény).
A szelvényben néhány szórványos
őskori (DVK) kerámiatöredéken kívül más
régészeti jelenséget nem találtunk.
A feltárás eredményeit összegezve elmondható,
hogy a kutatott terület nyugati
részén, a Duna felé lejtő egykori kiemelkedésen,
belső oldalán paliszád fallal kísért
hármas árokrendszer létezett, amely a
kevés értékelhető kerámialelet alapján a
DVK fi atalabb (Zselíz) időszakára keltezhető.
Az árokrendszer még a Zselíz
időszakban elvesztette jelentőségét,
amelyet az árok mesterséges feltöltése
mellett, a betöltésébe beásott objektum
is bizonyít. Ebben a folyamatban bizonyára
meghatározó szerepet játszottak a
Duna időszakos áradásai, amelyet az árkok
alsó részének természetes feltöltődése és
a mélyebb területekre sodródott leletek
megjelenése alapján feltételezhetünk. A
feltárás eredményei alapján a térségben
a DVK fi atalabb szakaszának jelentősebb
kiterjedésű településével számolhatunk,
amelynek centruma a kutatott területtől
északra, illetve nyugatra, a Fehérvári út és
a környező lakótelep kapcsolódó területén
húzódhatott. A közép-európai vonaldíszes
kerámia más területein szintén megjelenő
árokrészleteket korábban több ásatáson
megfi gyeltek a Dunántúlon és Budapest
területén is (Békásmegyer: GÁBO-

animal bones and a few shards, repeatedly
collapsed based on the layer sequence of
the fi ll.
Altogether 6 features were unearthed
in trench 2, which was opened the eastern
part of the territory and measured
30 × 5.5 m. A Roman period pit with a
trough-shaped bottom (feature 2/3), 3
smaller features without fi nds (features
2/4-6) and a beehive-shaped pit (feature
2/2) and a small round pit (feature 2/1)
were unearthed. These contained a couple
of prehistoric (Transdanubian Linear
Pottery culture) shards.
In the southern part of the territory,
north of the former basin of the open-air
bath, the positioning of the public
utilities only permitted the opening of a
14 × 2 m large trench, smaller than what
had been intended (trench 4). Apart
from a few scattered prehistoric (Transdanubian
Linear Pottery culture) shards,
no archaeological phenomena were observed.
Summing up the results of the excavation
we can say that a triple ditch system
existed with a palisade wall along its inner
side in the western part of the investigated
territory, on an elevation sloping
towards the Danube. It can be dated to
the younger (Zseliz) phase of the Transdanubian
Linear Pottery culture based
on the few pottery fi nds which could
be evaluated. The ditch system had already
lost its importance in the Zseliz
period, which is shown by the refi lling
of the features and by the features which
were dug through them. The intermittent
fl ooding of the Danube may have
played a decisive role in this process as
suggested by the natural fi ll in the lower
parts of the ditches and the appearance
