Egyes gödrök korai használatát jelzi, hogy
megtalálható bennük a turbántekercses
váll-, illetve peremdísz, mely a behúzott
peremű tálakkal egyetemben késő bronzkori
fazekashagyományok továbbélésére
utal.
A leletanyag bizonyos vonatkozásaiban
tehát a Hallstatt-kultúra edényművességének
jegyeit viseli magán, ám néhány típusa
gyakori az egyre jobban ismert szkíta házi
kerámiának is. Mivel a Hallstatt-kultúra
nyílt színi telepein használatos kerámiaanyagát
ma még alig ismerjük, a kőérberki
vaskori anyag feldolgozása sok új adatot
szolgáltathat e probléma megoldásához.
Feltűnően nagy számban fordulnak
elő különböző méretű és díszítésű orsógombok,
nagyobb méretű agyag karikák,
oldaltöredékekből kialakított orsókarikák,
valamint kőből, illetve agyagból készített
kisméretű, trapéz alakú, olykor bekarcolt
jelekkel ellátott szövőszéknehezékek. Egy
esetben földbe mélyített ház padlóján,
máskor méhkas alakú verem fenekén kerültek
elő példányaik. Ezek egyértelműen
The remains of a settlement from the
Early Iron Age were also found. It occupied
a 50 m wide and about 350 m long band
on the ridge of the row of hills skirting
the northern bank of the Kő-ér stream.
The Early Iron Age fi nds that Margit Nagy
unearthed on the territory of the Vasvári
barracks in 1977 probably belonged to this
settlement (BTM Ad. 668–78).
The most numerous features from the
settlement were the beehive-shaped storage
pits sometimes with steeply narrowing
walls. The bottom and the sides of a few
pits were burned to a red colour. Feature
no. 6001 deserves special attention. It
started as a quadrangular pit with the
sides measuring 2 m. At a depth of about
70 cm it suddenly became round and
widened into a beehive shape. The walls
and the bottom burned to a red colour
(Fig. 10). Traces of burning could also be
observed in beehive-shaped pit no. 4033,
however, a fi nely polished channelled vessel
and a bowl with a spouted rim were
placed into the centre and the corners of
the pit and a dog skull was laid facing the
