Az alaktalan „objektumok” alján
sokszor az altalaj felsőbb részénél jóval
keményebb meszes altalajt találtunk. A
gödrök kávébarna betöltéséből nagyobb
mennyiségű kovásodott állatcsont került
elő. Feltételezhető, hogy a jégkorszakban
a közelben (a mai Kis-Rákos-patak medrének
közelében) patak folyt, így a terület
a vízfolyás mocsaras ártere lehetett, ahová
az állatok inni, dagonyázni jártak. Az öszszefüggő
vázrészek helyben kovásodásra
utalnak. Ennek geológiai feltételei a
területen egyelőre kérdésesek, a jövő évben
folytatódó feltárásokhoz kapcsolódó
geológiai kutatások várhatóan tisztázzák
a kérdést. A jégkori fauna pontosabb korát
a paleontológiai leletek értékelése és a radicarbon
vizsgálatok elvégzése után tudjuk
meghatározni. Az ásatás eredményei
várhatóan hasznos adatokkal gazdagítják

122). Test excavations brought to light a
grave with a southeast–northwest orientation
(with very rich pottery fi nds and a
silex blade) as well as a southwest–northeast
oriented inhumation grave from
Békásmegyer – Kollár földje (ENDRŐDI
2002, 36). At Békásmegyer-Pünkösdfürdő,
an inhumation burial with grave goods in
the form of pottery was discovered during
rescue excavations (ENDRŐDI 2002,
36), and the inhumation burial of a fl exed
skeleton unearthed by Rózsa Schreiber at
the Békásmegyer-Summer Resort of the
Municipal Council also contained a few
ceramic fi nds (ENDRŐDI 2002, 38). At
71–89 Lajos Street in Budapest’s 3 rd district,
Tibor Hable unearthed an inhumation
burial with a fl exed skeleton without
grave furniture near Late Copper Age pits
(HABLE 2003, 39). These can conditionally
be assigned to the Baden culture.
In terms of their orientation and rite,
the graves unearthed at Kereszt-dűlő are
comparable to the known inhumation
burials. As compared to other cemeteries,
however, the rarity of fi nds is unusual. The
lack of fi nds cannot be explained by disturbances
caused by deep ploughing since
no Late Copper Age fi nds were found in
the humus either, and only a single amulet
was found in the two intact graves. The
reason for the difference between the richness
of this part of the cemetery and other
cemeteries probably lies in differences in
the wealth or rank of this community.
In the region of the site, scattered fi nds
from the Baden culture are known from
the fi elds of the former eponymous site
of Pécel (HAMPEL 1886, Pl. LXXVIII. I;
NAGY 1904, 102). The excavation of the
site provided new data to the investigation
of the Late Copper Age in the region of
Budapest.
