Igyekeztünk minden helyiségnek legalább
egy ponton a „teljes” rétegsorát megvizsgálni.
Munkánkat több tényező nehezítette,
így például az épület déli helyiségei
felett igen sok, korábbi feltárásból itt maradt
(deponált) törmelékanyag volt, illetve
rekonstruálnunk kellett a korábbi feltárás
módszerét is. Egy második világháborús
bombatölcsér az 58. és 64. helyiségek
rétegsorának nagy részét tönkretette.
Mivel munkánk az egyes helyiségek igen
kis felületére korlátozódott és a talajvíz
is feljött, sok esetben gondot okozott a
rétegek értelmezése, és megfeleltetése.
További problémát jelentett, hogy a felszínen
látszó falak jelentős részét az újkorban
– állagmegóvás céljából – felfalazták,
így azok szerkezete és kapcsolatai érdemben
nem voltak vizsgálhatók. Bár a feltáró

This year the excavation extended
only to the southern so-called workshop
part of the building (Figs. 1 and 2). The
tasks here were the authentication of the
former excavation results, the more exact
identifi cation of the construction periods
and the clarifi cation of the function of
the rooms. We made an effort to examine
the “entire” layer sequence of each room
in least at one spot. A number of factors
hindered our work including the thick deposit
covering the southern rooms of the
building, which had been left there from
previous excavations and we also had to reconstruct
the former excavation methods.
A bomb crater from World War II had
destroyed the larger part of the layer sequence
in rooms nos. 58 and 64. Since we
concentrated on very small surfaces in the
