olit gödröket a vízpart közvetlen közelében
is, amelyeket a feltörő talajvíz miatt
csak részben tudtunk feltárni. Mindezek
a korszakon belül bekövetkezett klímaváltozással,
illetve a maitól markánsan
különböző időjárási viszonyokkal magyarázhatók.
Az összesítő rajz alapján eddig
öt cölöpvázas épület alapjait sikerült
azonosítanunk. Ezek közül három, szintén
a patakhoz közel, a domb aljában fekszik.
A házakat három, párhuzamos cölöpsorból
építették, a délen fekvők irányítása
északnyugat–délkelet. A másik kettő ettől
északabbra helyez kedett el. Méretük lényegesen
kisebb az előzőekénél, mindössze
12 (3 × 4) cölöp tartotta a falakat. (4. kép)
Irányításuk is eltér valamelyest a patakhoz
közelebb fekvőkétől (észak–dél). A
leletanyag alapos kiértékelése nélkül ezek
korszakhoz sorolása még nem lehetséges,
de a már említett földrajzi elkülönülés
és a 2003-ban Törökbálint-Dulácskán
talált hasonló háztípusok és azok ottani
elhelyezkedése alapján (HORVÁTH 2004,
157) a nagyobb épületeket talán a kottafejes,
a kisebbeket pedig a zselizi korszakban

the initial phase of the culture based on
the chaff tempering of the ceramics, the
fi ring method, the surfaces and certain
ornaments on the vessels (Fig. 2), yet the
overwhelming majority of the Neolithic
fi nds came from the Notenkopf and the
Zseliz periods. We could not or only rarely
identify the original prehistoric surfaces
because of the mechanical removal of the
humus. On-the-spot cracked vessels (Fig.
3) or large querns lying on the surface
indicated these exceptional situations.
Neolithic fi nds and features were discovered
west of the trading centre and south
of the of the railway bed. Coherent settlement
features appeared in the blocks Finta,
Vadász and Marosi and on the banks
of the stream to their south. The settlement,
which formes a coherent unit here,
extends over a surface of six hectares and
it could be entirely unearthed. No sharp
border existed between the features of the
two major phases. It could, however, be
observed in genperiodl that people lived
closer to the stream in the earlier (Notenkopf)
period, while in the Zseliz period
