Introduction to Computer <strong>As</strong>sisted Instruction in the Language Arts is designed<br />
to introduce students to CAI Programs in the Language Arts by using<br />
hands-on interactive instructional applications programs. Depending upon<br />
the diagnostic assessment, students may enroll through the twelfth week of<br />
the semester. This course is open to all students. Grades are on a credit/<br />
no-credit basis.<br />

Development (GED): Literature and the Arts test. It will include critical<br />
thinking skills – reading comprehension skills, interpret graphs, analysis in<br />
literature and the arts, tone and style/prose fiction, interpret poetry, interpret<br />
drama, interpret plays, interpret non-fiction and commentaries. Depending<br />
upon the diagnostic assessment, students will be placed in appropriate program.<br />
Students may enroll through the twelfth week of semester. This course<br />

This course is designed to prepare students to pass the General Education<br />
Development Test (GED): Writing Skills Test. . It will include basics grammar<br />
and usage skills, sentence structure, capitalization, punctuation, spelling,<br />
and the essay. Depending upon the diagnostic assessment, students<br />
will be placed in an appropriate program. Students may enroll through the<br />
twelfth week of the semester. This course is open to all students. Grades<br />

This course is designed to prepare students to pass the GED: Social Studies<br />
Test. It will include thirteen English Colonies, the Revolutionary War,<br />
inflation and its effects, various branches of government, time zones, anthropology,<br />
sociology, and psychology.<br />

This course allows learning skills students to pursue directed studies in reading,<br />
writing, mathematics and/or study skills on a contract basis under the<br />
supervision of Learning Skills Instructor. Consultation with the instructor on<br />
a weekly basis, plus independent work is required. A maximum of 3 units in<br />
Directed Study may be taken for credit. Depending upon the diagnostic<br />
assessment, students will be placed in an appropriate program. Students<br />
