Advanced Practice Lab – Percussion<br />

Prerequisite: Music 820 or equivalent.<br />
This course allows more advanced students who are enrolled in any of the<br />
co-requisite courses of Music 820 Percussion Practice Lab to use the lab<br />
equipment and materials to further enhance applicable skills necessary for<br />

RN Residency Program<br />
DEGREE PROGRAM<br />
<strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> City College reopened the <strong>As</strong>sociate Degree Registered Nursing<br />
Program in Fall 2002. The college accepts20-40 students for enrollment every<br />
Fall and Spring. Should the number of qualified applicants exceed the number<br />
of available openings, a simple lottery will be implemented.<br />
The <strong>As</strong>sociate Degree program is a 2-year full-time program that includes<br />
theory and clinical courses over 4 days a week. Clinical experiences will<br />
include the opportunity for students to participate in nursing care and<br />
treatments of clients in hospitals and other health care facilities. Once<br />
admitted, this program is designed to be completed in four semesters for<br />
non-licensed candidates.<br />
NCLEX-RN Exam<br />
Students will be eligible to apply for and take the NCLEX-RN examination<br />
upon graduation. The Board of Registered Nursing may deny licensure on<br />
such grounds as: being convicted of crime, acts of dishonesty, fraud or deceit,<br />
etc. Persons impaired by alcohol, drug abuse and emotional illness are<br />
expected to voluntarily seek diagnosis and treatment for any suspected illness.<br />
Prerequisites<br />
<strong>As</strong> of Spring 2009, the Registered Nursing Program Prerequisites include<br />
completion of the following prerequisites with a minimum overall grade point<br />
average of 2.5. and no grade less than “C”<br />
1. Human Anatomy (with lab)<br />
2. Human Physiology (with lab)<br />
3. Microbiology 1 or 20.<br />
4. English 101 (College Reading and Comprehension) or<br />
equivalent with a minimum of a “C.”<br />
Additional Requirements<br />
• Completion of, or proof of math <strong>As</strong>sessment comparable to Math 115.<br />
• Completion of 1 year of High School Chemistry with a lab or equivalent
