TRANSFER INFORMATION<br />

Honors’ Program Benefits:<br />

• Transfer scholarships<br />

• Early registration for all <strong>LACC</strong> classes<br />

• Counseling and transfer advisement<br />

• Special Counseling and smaller Honors classes<br />

• Library privileges at UCLA and various other UC schools<br />

• Honors and research opportunities through the National and Western<br />

Regional Honors Council<br />

• Get-togethers throughout the academic year<br />

Program Requirements:<br />

1. Maintain minimum 3.0 GPA (cumulative).<br />

2. Complete 18 units in designated Honors sections.<br />

4. Complete English 101 or 012 with a “C” or better.<br />

Students may apply to the Honors Program at any time during the year.<br />

Be advised that Honors courses are only offered in Fall and Spring<br />

semesters. Students should plan their schedules accordingly.<br />

The college University Transfer Center brings access to higher education<br />

at a four-year university within reach for any student seeking the university<br />

experience. It is the intent of the Center to assist students to move on to<br />

the next level of higher education as they strive to reach academic,<br />

personal and professional goals. Students who have completed 24<br />

transferable units including English 101, are automatically considered to<br />

have begun the transfer process. So, even students who have not<br />

identified transfer as a goal are encouraged to visit the Transfer Center.<br />

The Center offers a variety of opportunities and services for students<br />

seeking to transfer including:<br />

• University research library.<br />

• Guarantee Admission Agreements with select universities.<br />

• Guidance through the transfer process for California and nationwide<br />

universities.<br />

• Applications to special summer programs for prospective transfer<br />

students such as UCLA’s Summer Intensive Transfer Experience<br />

(SITE) CalSOAP Senior Summer Bridge Institute, UC Berkeley –<br />

Summer Cal. and others<br />

• Transfer preparation and transfer ready workshops on campus and<br />

at universities.<br />

• Representatives from the University of California, California State<br />

University and the <strong>As</strong>sociation of Independent California Colleges<br />

and Universities regularly are available for one-on-one consultations<br />

in the Center. NOTE: Students should review the general education<br />

and pre-major preparation courses with a counselor of the University<br />

Transfer Center before making an appointment with a university<br />

representative.
