An exercise program utilizing interval training to increase cardiovascular<br />
efficiency and muscular strength/endurance. Participants’ transition, in timed<br />
intervals, from stationary bikes to strength training machines that condition<br />
all the major muscle groups in the body.<br />

Spin Cycling Aerobic<br />

A vigorous cardiovascular workout using a stationary bicycle, energetic music<br />
and cycling drills. Drills include simulated hill climbs, sprints, and various<br />
cycling positions. Aerobic and anaerobic situations are created to condition<br />
the entire cardiovascular system.<br />

Hatha Yoga<br />

Advisory: Physical Education Yoga Skills.<br />
This class provides a more in-depth exposure and experience with Hatha<br />
Yoga. Special attention is paid to Hatha Yoga styles, terminology, history,<br />
and developing personal skill level. Individual course may be taken four<br />

Physical Education<br />

Advisory: Eligibility to enroll in English 28 or its equivalent.<br />
Class provides an orientation to specific disabilities, methods, and techniques<br />
of working with the disabled. The arranged laboratory experience requires<br />
assisting a specialist with disabled students enrolled in adapted physical<br />
education activity classes. Valuable for students pursuing health/rehabilitative<br />
careers.<br />

Course is designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities who require<br />
restricted or modified activities. Individualized exercise programs will be<br />
performed by students with instruction covering the basic elements of physical<br />

Course is designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities who require<br />
restricted or modified activities. Individualized exercise programs will be<br />

Course is designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities who require<br />
restricted or modified activities. Individualized exercise programs will focus<br />
on basic swimming and water safety skills. Hydroexercise programs will<br />
emphasize physical fitness, buoyancy, and hydrodynamic resistance<br />
principles.<br />

Adapted Aerobics<br />

This course is designed for students with disabilities who need and<br />
individualized exercise program and can function independently. Students<br />
will develop cardiovascular and muscular endurance, strength, and flexibility<br />
while exercising with musical accompaniment.<br />

Adapted Cardiovascular Fitness<br />

Course is designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities who can<br />
benefit from individualized cardiovascular endurance training. Development<br />
of cardiovascular endurance through the use of bicycle ergometers with hand<br />
cranks will be the major class focus.<br />

Course is designed for students with back and/or neck problems that can<br />
benefit from an individualized exercise program. Instruction and practice<br />
will be given in individualized exercises, including stretching, resistive<br />
exercises and cardiovascular fitness.<br />
