The Campus Child Development Center offers a preschool program for<br />
children 3 to 5 years of age and an evening program for school age<br />
children. The Center provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum<br />
that responds to the individual needs of the children, incorporating the<br />
learning domains of social, physical, cultural, cognitive and emotional<br />
growth. Enrollment is available for the children of <strong>LACC</strong> student/parents to<br />
assist them in completing their educational goals. Priority is given to lowincome<br />
families. Applications for enrollment are available at the Campus<br />
Child Development Center. Applicants are encouraged to apply early<br />
because enrollment is limited. A fee may be charged, based upon the<br />
family size and income. Many families qualify for the grant program and<br />
receive subsidized child care.<br />

The Career and Job Development Center provides students with career<br />
assessment (testing), career counseling, and information on career<br />
choices. The Center offers vocational testing to identify interests, abilities,<br />
personality type, and work values related to career options. In addition,<br />
there is a career resource library and internet accessible computers with<br />
software programs (i.e. EUREKA) to assist in the career exploration<br />
process. The Career Center offers workshops, resume assistance and has<br />
information on internships. Services are provided by appointment and on a<br />
walk-in basis when available.<br />

The <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> City College Community Services Program is part of the<br />
Office of Economic & Workforce Development in Academic Affairs.<br />
Community Services provides a full range of not-for-credit classes and<br />
programs designed to meet the educational, social, recreational, cultural,<br />
and civic needs of residents in the college community. Fee and grant<br />
funds are received for programs to make them self-supporting.<br />
Educational programs offer the community an opportunity to explore a<br />
variety of personal interest areas of learning and to update individual<br />
knowledge and skills. Moreover, recreational, cultural, and social<br />
programs offer opportunities for community residents to participate in such<br />
activities as not- for-credit, short-term programs in dance, martial arts,<br />
physical fitness, gymnastics, and sports as well as a variety of selfdirected<br />

Sexual harassment is one form of discrimination. It is generally defined as<br />
unwelcome sexual advances and/or requests for sexual favors by a male<br />
or female. Sexual harassment is physical, verbal, or visual behavior that is<br />
sexual in nature, repeated, and interferes with your ability to study or work.<br />
It is conduct that has created a hostile or intimidating environment.<br />
The role of the Compliance Officer is to implement policies and procedures<br />
that follow Federal and State laws on discrimination and sexual<br />
harassment, oversee federal compliance, investigate and recommend<br />
resolutions to discrimination and/or sexual harassment complaints, serve<br />
as a resource on relevant issues and promote diversity. Students who feel<br />
that they have been discriminated against or sexually harassed or who<br />
wish to discuss incidents of discrimination or sexual harassment may<br />
contact and/or file a complaint with the Compliance Office.<br />
Copies of the Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Policy and relevant<br />
compliant forms may be obtained upon request from the Compliance<br />
Office or online.<br />

Contract Education is designed to enhance the economic development of<br />
the State of California. All courses and programs are taught by qualified<br />
faculty and meet the same standards of academic rigor as does the<br />
traditional, campus-based program. For additional information, contact the<br />
Office of Economic & Workforce Development in Academic Affairs.<br />
Through its Contract Education program, <strong>LACC</strong> provides credit courses<br />
and complete lower division transfer programs as well as not-for-credit<br />
workshops and customized seminars, for business, industry, and<br />
government agencies. The course offerings may be provided on company<br />
or agency premises or on campus. Contract Education course work is paid<br />
for by the contracting company or agency.<br />

Academic counseling services are available for all students in the<br />
Counseling Department. Students are encouraged to make an appointment<br />
to consult with a college counselor. If students need to review their<br />
records, appointments should be made in person several days in advance.<br />
No appointments are available the first week of the semester. Walk-in<br />
counselors are available to answer quick questions or to provide<br />
emergency help for students.<br />
The services available include counseling and guidance on educational,<br />
career, and personal goals as well as problems that may interfere with a<br />
