This is a first in a sequence of courses offering the opportunity to develop<br />
functional skills with synthesizers, digital keyboards, sequences, drum machines,<br />
reverb units, disk drives, and other MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital<br />
Interface) equipment.<br />

This course consists of instruction in basic piano skills with emphasis on<br />
learning to read music, play finger-patterns, scales, chords, and beginning<br />
pieces. Students are required to furnish their own headphones.<br />

Prerequisite: Music 311 with a satisfactory grade or equivalent.<br />
Continuing instruction in basic piano skills emphasizing note reading, simple<br />
major and minor scales, triads, chord progressions, repertoire and memorization.<br />
Students are required to provide their own headphones. (If the prerequisite<br />

from major historical periods, memorization. Students are required to<br />

Prerequisite: Music 313 with a satisfactory grade or equivalent.<br />
Instruction in piano skills emphasizing major and minor scales, major and<br />
minor arpeggios, repertoire from the Baroque, Romantic, and 20th century,<br />
memorization and sight reading skills. Students are required to provide their<br />

Co-requisite: Either Music 381, 382, 383, or 384.<br />
This course allows students currently enrolled in any of the co-requisite organ<br />
classes to use the lab equipment and materials to enhance applicable<br />
skills necessary for success.
