RESOLUTION FOR APPROVAL TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION AND
EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT IDENTIFIED AS MA-ATP-2010-JERSEY CITY-
00004 TO THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION, DIVISION OF ENGINEERING, TRAFFIC
AND TRANSPORTATION
COUNCIL AS A WHOLE
FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
OFFERED AND MOVED ADOPTION THE
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT)
announced that the City of Jersey City will receive a state funding allotment of One
Millon and Twenty Thousand Dollars ($1,020,000) for Fiscal Year 2010 under the
Annual Transportation Program (ATP); and
WHEREAS, the City of Jersey City, Department of Administration, Division of
Engineering, Traffc and Transportation wil be submitting an application for the
Newark Avenue Streetscape (Phase 3) Side Streets Project; and
WHEREAS, the application seeks financial assistance to continue the multi-millon
dollar streetscape improvements along Newark Avenue from Grove Street to Summit
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, this project, the Newark Avenue Streetscape Improvements (Phase 3)
wil meet the state's criteria on planning and design guidelines for maintaining and
enhancing the local transportation system; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to assume a commitment for maintenance of the project
after construction is completed; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Municipal Council of the City of
Jersey City formally approves the grant application for the above stated project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and/or Business Administrator, and
Clerk of the City of Jersey City, County of Hudson, State of New Jersey are hereby
authorized to submit an electronic grant application identified as MA-ATP-2010-
Jersey City-00004 to the New Jersey Department of Transportation on behalf of the
City of Jersey City.
