TITLE:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JERSEY CITY TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TOWNSHIP OF
NORTH BERGEN FOR THE TOWNSHIP TO PROVIDE THE
SERVICES OF ITS HEALTH OFFICER ON THE CITY'S
FURLOUGH DAYS

following resolution:
offered and moved adoption of the
WHEREAS, the City of Jersey City (City),will be fuloughing all of the employees of
the Deparent of Health and Human Services including the City's Health Officer on
eleven non-consecutive dates from Januar 2010 through June 2010; and
WHEREAS, the City needs to have a Health Officer on call on the fulough days to
respond in the event an emergency occurs that requires the presence of a Health Officer;
and
WHEREAS, the City and the Township of North Bergen (North Bergen) desire to work
in a cooperative manor to ensure the public health, safety, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, Nort Bergen agrees to have its Health Officer available to respond if a
health emergency occurs in Jersey City on a furlough day; and
WHEREAS, the cost of these services shall be $572.10 per day for a total contract
amount of$6,293.l0; and
WHEREAS, fuds in the amount of $6,293. 10 are available in Account No. 01-201-27-
331-314; and
WHEREAS, the Uniform Shared Services and Consolidation Act, N.J.S.A. 40A:65-l ~
g;., authorizes service agreements between public entities.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the Muncipal Council of the City of Jersey
City that:
1) Subject to such modifications as may be deemed necessar or appropriate by
Corporation Counsel or the Business Administrator, the Mayor or Business
Administrator is authorized to execute the agreement attched hereto with the
Townhip of Nort Bergen for the services of the Township's Health Offcer on
fulough days;
