The baptism numbers in Table 3.9 confirm the uneven growth or stagnation in<br />

most parishes between the 1670s <strong>an</strong>d 1780s. The baptism numbers for four parishes<br />

decrease between 1780 <strong>an</strong>d 1810, but for most this appears <strong>to</strong> be a time of growth.<br />

Although Table 3.8 shows little or no growth for Inkberrow between 1676 <strong>an</strong>d 1780, the<br />

baptism figures from 1780 <strong>to</strong> 1810 suggest greater growth th<strong>an</strong> for m<strong>an</strong>y villages. This<br />

may be explained by the spread of needlemakers in<strong>to</strong> the outskirts of the parish at this<br />

time.<br />
