It is used to change the priority of a MID in the coordination rules depending on the scenarios.
Default value shall be 1. The following rules shall be respected:
• A node with the same MID except for the Negotiation field shall consider it as the same
MID. In this case, the Negotiation field shall not be considered in the network
coordination rules.
• A node with different MID (Force Master, Reserved field or Identification field) shall
consider the Negotiation field in the network coordination rules.
The next 2 rules assert that the Negotiation field will be set to the same value into the same
BPL cell if a change is made by a single node:
• If the Negotiation field changes from 1 to 0 in a node, its master shall set the
Negotiation field to 0.
• If the Negotiation field changes in a node, its slaves shall set the same Negotiation field
value.
Only the HE can change the Negotiation field from 0 to 1 again. The HE shall change the
Negotiation field from 0 to 1 after 120 seconds from the change from 1 to 0.

� Identification field (48 bits)
By default it should be the Mac Address of the HE stored in reverse order. It shall not be assumed
by any protocol that the MasterId includes a MAC address.
For example, the MAC 0x00139D0002A8 will produce the Identification Field 0xA802009D1300
- MAC – 48 bits. This is the MAC address of transmitter.
