This section shows the IEEE P1901 MIB and contains a brief description of every object inside each branch under
the ‘IEEE P1901’ node. The MIB definition in ASN.1 format can be found in ANNEX A.
Note that not every OID can be accessed for get/set operations; read-only OIDs only accept ‘get’ operations, readwrite
OIDs accept both ‘get’ and ‘set’ operations, and nonaccessible OIDs accept neither of them (indicated in the
table above). In addition, every OID with an enable/disable meaning accepts an integer ‘1’ for enabling and an
integer ‘0’ for disabling.
plSystem
• plSystemTable
Almost every table in the IEEE P1901 MIB is indexed by the card number, so there will be a copy
of this object in these tables; their explanation is equivalent to this one.
o plSysCard: Used as an index to get/set system characteristic data for a specific BPL card. This
could be seen as useless because every BPL card has its own IP address, but it has been included to
support future improvements in IEEE P1901 technology where a single node will have a single IP
address, independent of the number of cards it will hold. But at present, this index is always a fixed
‘1’ value.
o plSysNodeType: Node type. An IEEE P1901 BPL card can act as a master, slave or repeater, and
therefore this OID can hold the values of 0:Master, 1:Slave and 2:Repeater.
