2 GENERAL DESCRIPTION<br />

An access BPL network consists of a number of user terminals (CPEs) that transmit/receive traffic in a shared<br />

medium to/from a centralized station (HE). If the signal is too attenuated to reach all CPEs from the same HE,<br />

repeaters (REP) can be inserted in the network in order to retransmit the signal <strong>and</strong> thus increase the coverage.<br />
