11.8 MAC FILTER PARAMETERS
• MAC_INGRESS_FILTERING_ENABLE = [YES | NO]
o Parameter: Enables (YES) or disables (NO) MAC ingress filtering in Ethernet interfaces.
o SNMP: no
o Mandatory: no
Enables or disables MAC ingress filtering in Ethernet interfaces (EXTA and EXTB). If enabled, only the
incoming frames whose source MAC address is contained in the allowed MAC list will be processed by the
bridge. If disabled, any MAC incoming frame will be processed, regardless its source address.
• MAC_INGRESS_FILTERING_MAX_ALLOWED = [1 … 4]
o Parameter: Values from 1 to 4 are possible.
o SNMP: no
o Mandatory: no
Configures the maximum number of MAC addresses contained in the allowed MAC list for MAC ingress
filtering.
• MAC_INGRESS_FILTERING_MODE = [FIXED | AUTO]
o Parameter: Two possible values: FIXED or AUTO. If FIXED is selected, the allowed MAC list
must be filled entering each MAC address manually. If AUTO is selected, the allowed MAC list is
automatically filled with any new source MAC address learnt by the bridge.
o SNMP: no
o Mandatory: no
Selects one of the following MAC ingress-filtering modes:
o Fixed. In this case, the allowed MAC list must be filled entering each MAC address manually.
o Automatic. In this case, the allowed MAC list is automatically filled with any new source MAC
address learnt by the bridge. Until the list is not full, the filtering is not actually performed. Once
the list is full, the filtering is enabled and any frame with source MAC address not contained in the
list will be discarded.
In both modes, the own MAC address is never filtered, i.e. it is implicitly contained in the allowed MAC
list, although not taken into account when computing the number of allowed addresses.
