3.15.7.2 Semantics of the service primitive<br />

<strong>PHY</strong>-MNT-BPC-SET.req (bpc_type, port, tonemap)<br />

• bpc_type: tx, rx (transmission, reception)<br />

• port: transmission or reception port<br />

• tonemap: updated tonemap to be used<br />

3.15.7.3 When generated<br />

The primitive is generated when the transmission/reception tonemap table with a node must be changed according<br />

to the ABLP protocol<br />

3.15.7.4 Effect of receipt<br />

The tonemap used by the Physiscal layer to transmit/receive to/from a remote node is changed.<br />

3.15.8 <strong>PHY</strong>-MNT-BPC-SET.cnf<br />

3.15.8.1 Function<br />

This primitive informs the Management layer that the tonemap has been updated.<br />

3.15.8.2 Semantics of the service primitive<br />

<strong>PHY</strong>-MNT-BPC-SET.cnf (bpc_type, port, tonemap)<br />

• bpc_type: tx, rx (transmission, reception)<br />

• port: transmission or reception port<br />

• tonemap: updated tonemap<br />

3.15.8.3 When generated<br />

The primitive is generated by the <strong>Physical</strong> layer to confirm the Management layer that the tonemap has been<br />

updated.<br />

3.15.8.4 Effect of receipt<br />

Management layer can use the updated tonemap for throughput <strong>and</strong> class of service calculations.<br />
