From IEEE 802.3 interface, the bytes are received in the following order: byte0, byte1, byte2 <strong>and</strong> byte3.<br />

And from this 32 bits word, the bytes are transmitted into the LLC interface in the following order: byte3, byte2,<br />

byte1, byte0. The packets are transmitted to the LLC in the way shown in Figure 66, starting from the top, since the<br />

LLC works with bytes.<br />

If we define N as the number of bytes in Data Payload plus the number of bytes of the Length/Type Field, then we<br />

can write N = 4*m + p; with m an integer value <strong>and</strong> p equal to 0, 1, 2 or 3. The number of bytes in PLW is equal to<br />

0 if p is equal to 0 or 4-p in the other cases, because the packet is 32 bit aligned.<br />
