The format of this EAP-Response/Identity packet to be encapsulated in the RADIUS <strong>Access</strong>-Request is the already<br />

indicated for Messages C <strong>and</strong> D but the Packet Body is the following:<br />

The Response to the previous message by the AS is an “<strong>Access</strong>-Challenge/EAP” packet which the authenticator<br />

will convert into Message C for transmission to the Supplicant just decapsulating it.<br />

Message D (EAP-Response/Challenge) shall be encapsulated by the Authenticator into a RADIUS <strong>Access</strong>-<br />

Request/EAP.<br />

And the response to the previous message will be a “Radius <strong>Access</strong>-Accept (or Reject)/EAP” packet which the<br />

authenticator will convert into Message E for transmission to the Supplicant by forming an IEEE P1901 “<strong>Access</strong><br />

Protocol Packet” as indicated in section 9.1.3, which has also the possibility to signal “Failed” besides Accept or<br />

Reject. This would happen in case of failure of the dialog between the Authenticator <strong>and</strong> the Authentication Server.<br />

The Format of the RADIUS packet encapsulating an EAP message is the following [RFC2865]:<br />
