4.7.25.4 Effect of receipt
The current link status is obtained by the MAC layer and passed to the Management layer by means of the MAC-
MNT-LINK-STATUS.req primitive.
4.7.26 MAC-MNT-LINK-STATUS.cnf
4.7.26.1 Function
This primitive indicates the link status of the communication with certain MAC.
4.7.26.2 Semantics of the service primitive
MAC-MNT-LINK-STATUS.cnf (MAC,link_status):
• MAC: MAC address
• Link Status: Linked (1) or not linked (0)
4.7.26.3 When generated
The primitive is generated when the Management layer needs to know the status of certain link.
4.7.26.4 Effect of receipt
The Maganement layer gets the link status.
5 LLC
5.1 INTRODUCTION
The LLC layer receives packets (Convergence Layer PDUs) from the Convergence Layer and transmits LLC PDUs
to the MAC layer. LLC tasks are:
• Segmentation and grouping of packets (CLPDUs) to create the payloads of the bursts.
• The addition of an inter-packet header to every packet or fragment of packet
• The addition of an LLC delimiter (Burst Header) to the payload of every burst payload.
• The addition of the CCMP Header at the beginning of each burst when burst is set as encrypted.
• The addition of a Message Integrity Check (MIC) to every fragment of packet or packet when burst is set as
encrypted.
