4.7.12.2 Semantics of the service primitive
MAC-MNT-RESOURCES.ind(MAC, type, prio, latency, BW):
- MAC: MAC address of the traffic source.
- type: type of indication. [NO_RESOURCES|RESOURCES_CHANGE].
- service_class: service class of the traffic flow
- latency: latency requirement of the flow
- BW: bandwidth requirement of the flow. (BW can be lower than requested when type is
RESOURCES_CHANGE)
4.7.12.3 When generated
The primitive is passed by the MAC layer entity to the Management layer entity to indicate that the resources of a
traffic flow have changed.
4.7.12.4 Effect of receipt
The Management layer is aware of the change in the resources allocated to the traffic flow, and shall take this result
into account when performing the CAC protocol.
4.7.13 MAC-MNT-RESOURCES.cnf
4.7.13.1 Function
This primitive indicates the result of the previously requested allocation of local resources.
4.7.13.2 Semantics of the service primitive
MAC-MNT-RESOURCES.cnf (MAC, type, service_class, latency, BW):
- MAC: MAC address of the traffic source.
- type: type of confirmation. [OK|NO_RESOURCES]
- service_class: service_class of the traffic flow
- latency: latency requirement of the flow
- BW: bandwidth requirement of the flow. (BW can be lower than requested when type is OK).
4.7.13.3 When generated
The primitive is passed by the MAC layer entity to the Management layer entity to indicate the result of the
previously requested allocation of local resources.
4.7.13.4 Effect of receipt
The Management layer is aware of the result of the previous MAC-MNT-RESOURCES.req primitive, and shall
take this result into account when performing the CAC protocol.
