4.7.18 <strong>MAC</strong>-MNT-NHOPS.cnf<br />

4.7.18.1 Function<br />

This primitive indicates the result of the previously requested number of hops.<br />

4.7.18.2 Semantics of the service primitive<br />

<strong>MAC</strong>-MNT-NHOPS.cnf(nhops):<br />

- nhops: number of hops between local node <strong>and</strong> requested master.<br />

4.7.18.3 When generated<br />

The primitive is passed by the <strong>MAC</strong> layer entity to the Management layer entity to provide the number of hops.<br />

4.7.18.4 Effect of receipt<br />

The Management layer uses this number of hops in several management <strong>and</strong> configuration protocols.<br />

4.7.19 <strong>MAC</strong>-MNT-CHANGE.req<br />

4.7.19.1 Function<br />

This primitive is used to change the role of the node (master/slave) in the PLC cell.<br />

4.7.19.2 Semantics of the service primitive<br />

<strong>MAC</strong>-MNT-CHANGE.req (role, new_master):<br />

- role: [MASTER|SLAVE]<br />

- new_master: <strong>MAC</strong> address of the node that has to be considered as the new master. This parameter shall be<br />

used when the role is SLAVE.<br />

4.7.19.3 When generated<br />

The primitive is issued by the Management layer entity in the framework of the Coordination tools (see ¡Error! No<br />

se encuentra el origen de la referencia.).<br />

4.7.19.4 Effect of receipt<br />

The <strong>MAC</strong> layer shall play the role indicated in the parameters.<br />
