4.2 Activities <strong>of</strong> CBAHWs<br />

CBAHWs provide a localized service consist<strong>in</strong>g ma<strong>in</strong>ly <strong>of</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical services. <strong>The</strong> survey<br />

results <strong>in</strong>dicate that 60 percent <strong>of</strong> these workers keep records <strong>of</strong> their activities. <strong>The</strong>se records<br />

<strong>in</strong>clude disease cases handled, drugs used, and the prices <strong>of</strong> the drugs. <strong>The</strong>se workers handle<br />

diseases and ailments <strong>in</strong> cattle, sheep, goats, and poultry. Table 2 summarizes some <strong>of</strong> the<br />

diseases and ailments that were handled by these workers <strong>in</strong> the one-year period preced<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the survey.<br />
