reproductive system and its functions.<br />

o Are able to have a satisfy<strong>in</strong>g and safe sex life<br />

o Have the capability to reproduce and the freedom to decide if, when and<br />

how <strong>of</strong>ten to do so<br />

• Men and women have the right to:<br />

o Be <strong>in</strong>formed and have access to safe, effective, affordable and acceptable<br />

methods <strong>of</strong> family plann<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> their choice<br />

o Have access to appropriate health care services that will enable women to<br />

go safely through pregnancy and childbirth and provide couples with the<br />

best chance <strong>of</strong> hav<strong>in</strong>g a healthy <strong>in</strong>fant.<br />

Use the tra<strong>in</strong>er document <strong>Reproductive</strong> <strong>Health</strong> and its Implication as your guide to<br />

expla<strong>in</strong> the health implications to all matters related to reproduction. [Note: the<br />

document presents the “ideal situation” regard<strong>in</strong>g reproductive organs, sexual<br />

<strong>in</strong>tercourse, pregnancy, delivery and newborn babies. In addition to be<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>fluenced by<br />

access to and use <strong>of</strong> quality health care, these items are also <strong>in</strong>fluenced by heredity,<br />

congenital abnormalities, personal practices etc.]<br />
