Factors which influence the choice of visual aid. The visual aid must be:
• adapted to the teaching/facilitation method used
• available (including necessary equipment)
• portable
• sufficiently interesting to attract and maintain group attention
• adapted to the location
6. How can I evaluate the effectiveness of my session?
• During the session:
o Observe the audience to see if the subject interests them and if they
understand the message.
o Ask open questions to assess what they have learned/what the message
meant to them.
o Ask a member of the group to resume what has been said.
• After the session:
o See if the number of people attending future sessions increases.
o See if people come to you after the session for more information
o Ask yourself if the group does what you had anticipated in your objective for
the session.
o Ask yourself: "How can I improve?"
