(For example, if you want women to learn new ways to prepare more nutritious<br />

foods for babies, you might want to do a demonstration <strong>of</strong> preparation <strong>of</strong> these<br />

foods)<br />

• Influences the choice <strong>of</strong> visual aids you may use<br />

• Is necessary <strong>in</strong> order to evaluate the effectiveness <strong>of</strong> the session<br />

Ask:<br />

‣ What factors <strong>in</strong>fluence the choice <strong>of</strong> location and the length <strong>of</strong> time <strong>of</strong> the<br />

session?<br />

• Availability <strong>of</strong> space and seats for the size <strong>of</strong> group you anticipate (Can the space be<br />

organized so that women are comfortable and can see each other?)<br />

• How much time women will be able to spend<br />

• How much time I will be able to spend<br />

4. What method <strong>of</strong> facilitation/teach<strong>in</strong>g will I use? What k<strong>in</strong>ds <strong>of</strong> questions will I ask to<br />

facilitate participation and learn<strong>in</strong>g?<br />

Ask:<br />

‣ What factors <strong>in</strong>fluence the choice <strong>of</strong> teach<strong>in</strong>g/facilitation method?<br />

• The objectives <strong>of</strong> the session<br />

• The characteristics <strong>of</strong> target group (and what they are comfortable with)<br />

• The time and place<br />

• The methods the facilitator is capable <strong>of</strong> us<strong>in</strong>g effectively<br />
