SESSION 3: ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF HUMAN REPRODUCTION<br />

OBJECTIVES: By the end <strong>of</strong> the session, participants should be able to:<br />

1. Describe the pr<strong>in</strong>cipal organs <strong>of</strong> human reproduction and their functions<br />

2. Def<strong>in</strong>e the terms: menstrual cycle, menstruation, ovulation, fertility<br />

3. Describe the processes <strong>of</strong> fertilization and conception<br />

TRAINING METHODS: Exercise, Presentation, Discussion, Bead Game<br />

I. STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONS OF MALE & FEMALE<br />

REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS (30 m<strong>in</strong>utes)<br />

Expla<strong>in</strong> to participants that <strong>in</strong> order to give correct <strong>in</strong>formation on reproductive health<br />

to people <strong>in</strong> their communities, it is essential for health mediators to understand the<br />

anatomy and physiology <strong>of</strong> the female and male reproductive organs. This session will<br />

beg<strong>in</strong> with an exercise.<br />

Divide participants <strong>in</strong>to two groups.<br />
