This, we believe, isthe only rational, as it is undoubtedly the scriptural view ofthe subject. The liberties of society can be maintainedonly by maintaining the divinely-appointed equilibrium betweenthe two. If we make the temporal preponderate, wehave Erastianism, or the slavery of the Church.
