Intravitreal Bevasizumab and Posterior Subtenon Triamcinolone
Acetonide for Treatment of Choroidal Neovascular Membranes

Objective: The aim is to evaluate the effect of combined intravitreal injection of
bevasizumab and posterior subtenon of triamcinolone acetonide on patients
with choroidal neovascular membranes.
Subjects and Methods: Forty-six patients were included in this study.
Preoperative corrected visual acuity, flourescein angiography was done and
retinal thickness measured by OCT. Patients were divided into two groups:
Group 1: patients treated with intravitreal injection of Bevasizumab and
posterior subtenon of triamcinolone acetonide and Group 2: patients treated
with intravitreal injection of Bevasizumab alone.
Results: The mean preoperative central retinal and foveal thickness were
356.4 and 295.7 microns respectively in group 1 and 347.9 and 289.6 in group
2 respectively. The mean corrected visual acuity improved statistically in both
groups. The meancentral retinal and foveal thickness decreased in both groups
