Objective The objective of this study is to verify the relationship of diabetic
retinopathy (DR) with three modifiable risk factors include: The glycemic
control, blood pressure and microalbuminuria in young type 1 diabetics in the
Wilaya of Constantine .
Materials and methods: In a cross-sectional study in 2009, a total of 323
patients with type 1 diabetes living in the Wilaya of Constantine was
included. Clinical evaluations have involved a structured interview, ocular
examination, mydriatic non stereoscopic fundus photographs covered 9 fields,
measurements of blood pressure blood and urine tests.
Results: We found a statistically significant relationship between the presence
of renal disease secondary to diabetes, the figures in systolic blood pressure
(SBP) and of diastolic blood pressure (DBP) which are located in the upper
quartile values HbA1c located in the upper quartile and DR (P
