Greater promotion <strong>of</strong> tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />
IPART considers <strong>the</strong>re should be greater promotion <strong>of</strong> tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. The various<br />
programs <strong>of</strong>fer<strong>in</strong>g club-specific tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for directors and managers appear to be<br />
relevant and generally well-received by <strong>the</strong> stakeholders who participate <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
Cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g to raise awareness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> benefits <strong>of</strong> tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g will likely lead to an<br />
<strong>in</strong>crease <strong>in</strong> participation by directors and management.<br />
Therefore, IPART considers that <strong>Clubs</strong><strong>NSW</strong> should cont<strong>in</strong>ue to promote ongo<strong>in</strong>g<br />
tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g as best practice. Fur<strong>the</strong>r, it considers that <strong>Clubs</strong><strong>NSW</strong> should encourage<br />
clubs to record <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir annual reports any ongo<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g undertaken by directors<br />
<strong>in</strong> addition to <strong>the</strong> core tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g modules. This would <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>dustry’s<br />
awareness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> ongo<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.<br />
<strong>Clubs</strong><strong>NSW</strong> has <strong>in</strong>dicated it will cont<strong>in</strong>ue to develop new avenues to promote<br />
tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, for example by re-launch<strong>in</strong>g its Club Director magaz<strong>in</strong>e. 180<br />
Recommendation<br />

Framework<br />
– <strong>of</strong>fer<strong>in</strong>g more flexible delivery options for director tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />
