Discharge pressure check<br />

1. Disconnect ground cable from<br />

battery.<br />

2. Disconnect ground wire (black)<br />

from fuel pump.<br />

3. Disconnect lead wire from the S<br />

terminal of starter motor.<br />

4. Remove cold start valve from<br />

intake manifold.<br />

5. Put cold start valve into a container<br />

of min. 20 cc (1.22 cu ,-in)<br />

capacity, and plug the container opening<br />

with a rag.<br />

6. Connect ground cable to battery.<br />

7. Turn ignition switch to the<br />

START position, and release fuel line<br />

pressure.<br />

8. Remove cold start valve from fuel<br />

hose.<br />

9. Connect a fuel pressure gauge<br />

between cold start valve and fuel hose,<br />

and install cold start valve on intake<br />

manifold.<br />

10. Disconnect ground cable from<br />

battery.<br />

11. Connect ground lead wire to<br />

fuel pump.<br />

12. Connect ground cable to battery.<br />

13. Turn ignition switch to the<br />

START position to operate fuel pump.<br />

Engine Fuel<br />

A fuel pressure of approximately<br />

2.55 kg/cm 2 (36.27 psi) indicates a<br />

good fuel discharge pressure. f<br />

14. If'fuel pressure is not as specified,<br />

replace fuel pressure regulator, and<br />

repeat pressure discharge
