TROUBLE DIAGNOSES OF SYSTEM<br />

SYSTEM CHECK ON CAR<br />

STEP 1.<br />

A harness checker should always be used when<br />

anything goes wrong with this system.<br />

Do not attempt to disassemble or adjust the interlock<br />

unit. Trouble shooting should begin by checking<br />

whether or not the conditions alleged by the customer<br />

recur.<br />

Starting motor will not rotate, therefore engine will<br />

not start. Repeat above operations after connecting<br />

new interlock unit with connectors.<br />

Engine starts properly.<br />

The system is in good condition.<br />

Starting motor will not rotate, therefore engine will<br />

not start.<br />

System problem other than interlock unit. Proceed to<br />

STEP 2 or 3.<br />

Engine starts properly.<br />

Interlock unit problem.<br />

Replace interlock unit.<br />

STEP 2.<br />

Inspection with the harness checker.<br />

1. Disconnect interlock unit at connectors.<br />

2. Connect the checker with connectors as shown<br />

below.<br />

Identify which check light is off and check interlock<br />

relay operation.<br />

Replace interlock relay if inoperative and replace the<br />

parts indicated by each check light which remains off.<br />
