VACUUM WATER<br />

REMOVAL AND<br />

INSTALLATION<br />

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.<br />

2. Drain engine coolant.<br />

3. On inside of the engine compartment,<br />

remove heater hoses on both<br />

inlet and outlet sides by loosening<br />

hose clamps.<br />

4. Remove glove box.<br />

5. Remove blower housing as described<br />

in "Blower Housing".<br />

6. Remove two hoses on room side<br />

by loosening hose clamps.<br />

7. Remove two mounting screws of<br />

vacuum water cock.<br />

8. Take off vacuum hose, and remove<br />

vacuum water cock from heater<br />

unit.<br />

9. Installation is to be done in reverse<br />

order of removal.<br />

INSTALLATION<br />

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.<br />

2. Drain engine coolant.<br />

3. On inside of the engine compartment,<br />

remove heater hoses for heater<br />

inlet and outlet.<br />

4. Remove glove box.<br />

5. Remove blower housing as described<br />

in "Blower Housing".<br />

6. Remove vacuum water cock as<br />

described in "Vacuum Water Cock".<br />

7. Remove control cable from water<br />

cock.<br />

8. Remove control cable from<br />

heater door and then disconnect<br />

heater door rod from heater door by<br />

removing snap ring. See Figure AC-41.<br />

9. Remove two mounting screws of<br />

water cock and two mounting screws<br />

of heater core cover, and pull out<br />

water cock and heater core assembly.<br />

See Figure AC-42.<br />

Note: In removing or installing core,<br />

keep heater door open; otherwise<br />

core will be damaged.<br />

10. Unfasten hose clamps, and disassemble<br />

core and cock.<br />

11. Installation is to be done in<br />

reverse sequence of removal.<br />
