1. Remove wiper arm referring to<br />

previous section.<br />

2. Open hood, and disconnect wiper<br />

motor connector.<br />

3. Remove cowl top grille by<br />

removing cowl top retaining screws.<br />

To adjust wiping area, loosen arm<br />

set nut and adjust blade to correct<br />

installation angle to obtain correct<br />

sweeping zone as sketched in figure<br />

above.<br />

Then, secure nut at specified tightening<br />

torque.<br />

Tightening torque:<br />

Wiper blade arm lock nut:<br />

0.8 to l.Okg-m<br />

(5.8 to 7.2 ft-lb)<br />

Nozzle direction<br />

Adjust nozzle direction so that<br />

fluid is sprayed in proper range by<br />

bending nozzle with screwdriver. This<br />

adjustment can be carried out through<br />

cowl top grille.<br />

Car body center<br />

* Adjusting range 100 (3.9) dia.<br />

REMOVAL AND<br />

INSTALLATION<br />

Wiper arm and wiper blade<br />

Remove arm and blade assembly<br />

from pivot in this sequence.<br />

1. Raise wiper blade from windshield<br />

glass.<br />

2. Unscrew arm set nut. Arm can<br />

then be pulled off pivot.<br />

3. Install in reverse sequence of<br />

removal.<br />

Note: Be sure to install arm and blade<br />

assembly in correct peak position.<br />

Position of blade can be adjusted<br />

when pushing it onto pivot.<br />

Tightening torque:<br />

Arm set nut:<br />

0.8 to l.Okg-m<br />

(5.8 to 7.2 ft-lb)<br />

To remove blade, raise tab to unlatch<br />

blade lock and pull blade off top<br />

end of arm.<br />

4. Remove four screws retaining<br />

wiper motor bracket.<br />

The bracket with wiper motor can<br />

then be taken out. Refer to Figure<br />

BE-110.<br />

5. Remove three screws retaining<br />

pivot.<br />

6. The linkage can then be taken out<br />

easily. Refer to Figure BE-111.<br />
