Air Conditioning<br />

11. In the reverse sequence of removal,<br />

reinstall control assembly.<br />

As to adjustment of cable, refer to<br />

"Adjustment of Control Cable".<br />

• As to connection of wiring harness,<br />

refer to "Wiring Harness Diagram".<br />

• As to connection of vacuum hose,<br />

refer to "Vacuum Hose Diagram".<br />

Note: Capillary tube should not be<br />

bent too sharp.<br />

9. Installation is to be done in reverse<br />

order of removal.<br />

Capillary tube should be inserted<br />

by prescribed length in original position.<br />

Length to be inserted is 50 to 70<br />

mm (1.97 to 2.76 in).<br />

Heater door<br />

Set AIR lever in DEF position.<br />

Hook control cable on heater door and<br />

fix cable with clamp so as to close<br />

heater door perfectly.<br />

Water cock<br />

Set TEMP lever in COLD position.<br />

Hook control cable on water cock and<br />

fix cable with clamp so as to get water<br />

cock closed completely.<br />

Thermostat<br />

Set TEMP lever in COLD position.<br />

Install thermostat control rod so that<br />

thermostat is in full cold position.<br />

Disconnect battery ground cable.<br />

Remove console box.<br />

Remove finisher. See Figure AC-<br />

4. Remove finisher brackets and<br />

3-way air duct.<br />

5. Remove control rod of thermostat.<br />

6. From evaporator housing, remove<br />

thermostat together with bracket by<br />

taking off two mounting screws.<br />

7. Remove thermostat wiring at connector.<br />

8. Pull out capillary tube from<br />

evaporator core and then take out<br />

thermostat.<br />

EXPANSION VALVE<br />

REMOVAL<br />

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.<br />

2. Discharge system.<br />

3. Remove finisher. See Figure<br />

AC-44.<br />

4. Remove finisher brackets and<br />

3-way air duct.<br />

5. Remove tube from expansion<br />

valve by removing flare nut.<br />

6. Remove two mounting nuts, and<br />

pull out valve from expansion valve<br />

case. See Figure AC-48.<br />
