BLOWER MOTOR DIAGNOSES<br />

Air Conditioning<br />

Blower motor inoperative<br />

Check fuse.<br />

Fuse blown<br />

Fuse OK<br />

Locate short-circuited spot, and<br />

repair or replace faulty parts.<br />

Ground one of lead wires<br />

[blue/green (1-speed), blue/black (2-speed),<br />

blue/red (3-speed), blue (4-speed)]<br />

leading to blower speed switch.<br />

Blower runs.<br />

Check ground circuit connection and lead<br />

wire connection.<br />

When no problem is found, replace blower<br />

speed switch.<br />

Blower does not run.<br />

Ground blue wire of resistor.<br />

Blower runs.<br />

Check connection of resistor. When no<br />

problem is found, replace resistor.<br />

Blower does not run.<br />

Connect 12-volt test light to white wire leading<br />

to blower motor. Ground the other end of test<br />

light.<br />

Light ON<br />

Light OFF<br />

Check lead wire connection. When no<br />

problem is found, replace blower motor.<br />

Connect 12-volt test light to blue/yellow of<br />

power source relay. Ground the other end of<br />

test light.<br />

Light ON<br />

Light OFF<br />

Check lead wire connection, and when no<br />

problem is found, replace relay.<br />

Check wire between relay and fuse; Check fuse<br />

holder, too.<br />

Repair or replace damaged parts, if any.<br />
