Only Member States with more than 5% of total EU-25 production are shown separately. Spainwas the most important producer (17%), followed by France (15%), Germany (12%), Italy (12%) andthe UK (11%). Poland comes sixth with a 7% share in total EU-25 production in 2003 and is the onlynew Member State with a more than 5% share. Hungary and the Czech Republic, the other main eggproducers in the new Member States account for 3% and 2% respectively of EU-25 production andare therefore not shown separately.6
